Established in Chiang Mai between 1988 and 1990, Chumpon and his peers founded the Tap Root Society as a temporary living space for visiting artists\u2014similar to an artist residency program. It also served as a venue for presenting diverse art forms, including installation, music, song for life, folk songs, poetry, and performance art. The space can be considered one of Chiang Mai\u2019s earliest independent art initiatives.
